Karen’s recent theatre credits as Director and Choreographer include the previous West End production of FOOTLOOSE (as well as a production in South Africa and two UK tours); FAME (West End, UK Tours); THE WEDDING SINGER (UK tour); OLIVER! (Bermuda) and SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER (as Associate Director and Choreographer – West End, UK tour, Australia, Singapore, Scandinavia, Korea, South Africa, Madrid). Karen also directed the recent tour of STRICTLY COME DANCING – THE PROFESSIONALS.
Karen was awarded the Olivier Award for Best Choreography for her work on PACIFIC OVERTURES at the Donmar Warehouse. Her other credits as choreographer include the feature film TOAST which will be shown on BBC TV this Christmas; STRICTLY COME DANCING (current series) and SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE (both for BBC TV); NEVER FORGET (West End, UK tours); THE PRODUCERS (Madrid); FAR PAVILIONS (West End); BRIGHTON ROCK (Almeida Theatre); DOCTOR DOLITTLE and ANNIE GET YOUR GUN (UK tours); a new piece on Music in War at the National Theatre Studio, and Sheffield Crucible’s critically acclaimed A CHORUS LINE and SWEET CHARITY (the latter winning the TMA Best Musical Award).
She also choreographed the Opening Ceremony for the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester as well as devising several new pieces for Princess Cruises.
