Julian Reeve
Musical Director
Julian trained at Anglia Polytechnic University in Cambridge.
He has been the Musical Director for the opening of the International Music Festival in Cyprus for the past three years conducting The Sound of Music, Cats, and most recently the 50th anniversary production of Oliver! at the Pattichion Amphitheatre in Larnica.
Other credits as Musical Director include: National Music Day (BBC Radio 2), Grease (UK Tour), The Music of Dirty Dancing (International Tour/English Heritage Summer Concert Series), Smokey Joe’s Cafe (Stevenage), Best of the West End (Sweden), The Magic of the Musicals (UK Tour), Birmingham Live ’95 (BBC Radio 2). As Assistant Musical Director: Footloose (Novello Theatre), Treasure Island (Theatre Royal, Haymarket), Saturday Night Fever (Asian Tour), Grease (Victoria Palace Theatre and tour of Japan). As Musical Supervisor: Mobile Lives (BBC 2), Live @ The Movies (Sony Music Entertainment), Tidal Rave (YoYo Media), You Don’t Bring Me Flowers (UK Tour), Manhattan Nights (Live Album/DVD).
On Drums/Percussion he has worked on: Spamalot (Palace Theatre), Chicago (Cambridge Theatre and International Tour), West Side Story (UK Tour), Guys and Dolls (UK Tour), and Hairspray (Shaftesbury Theatre).
He has written incidental music and jingles for numerous companies including music for the game ‘Hitman – Blood Money’ released worldwide on PS2/Xbox/PC. His extensive arranging work includes ‘Queer as Folk’ (US/Series 1), the Anglia Chamber Choir, and various arrangements/orchestrations for the winners of Greek X Factor and Pop Idol series 2010. Work in the recording studio includes the orchestral conductor/arranger for rock band Elevated on their debut album in Italy, and co-write on the album Caldo-Freddo by Airbiscuit in the UK.
Julian is also the Managing Director of JPR Productions Ltd, recently promoting the American soul artist Oleta Adams in some of the UK’s finest concert halls including the London Barbican.
