Steven trained at the Drama Centre in London. He has recently appeared as Emmet in a UK tour of KEEPING UP APPEARANCES, Paul in a UK tour of ABSENT FRIENDS and Gifford in LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE at Eastbourne and touring. He appeared at the Mill at Sonning as Charles in a production of THE SOUND OF MURDER. He played Richard in a National Tour of DEAD FUNNY which earned him a Manchester Evening News Theatre Award nomination for best performance in a visiting production. His many other theatre credits include Elyot Chase in a tour of Private Lives, Philip in a new play THE GROUCH at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, Angus in NEVILLE’S ISLAND at the Devonshire Park Theatre, Eastbourne, TEN TIMES TABLE, playing the D’Ascoyne family (eight different characters!) in a tour of KIND HEARTS AND CORONETS, the vicar and the councilor in THE TITFIELD THUNDERBOLT at the Queens Theatre, Hornchurch, tour of DIAL M FOR MURDER, THE CONSTANT WIFE, MURDER BY MISADVENTURE, TRAP FOR A LONELY MAN, THE UNEXPECTED GUEST, SEASONS GREETINGS, WATCHING and THE MISER. Steven has also playing Tony in UP ‘N’ UNDER at the Chester Gateway, Prince Giglio in THE QUEST FOR THE ROSE AND THE RING (Watermill Theatre, Newbury), Donalbain/Seyton in MACBETH (Shaw Theatre, London), Maurice in DEATHWATCH (Edinburgh Festival), Laurence in ABIGAIL’S PARTY (Cheltenham Everyman) and DEAD CERTAIN (Theatre Royal, Windsor). Pantomime roles include Captain Hook in PETER PAN (Wyvern Theatre, Swindon) and Prince Charming in CINDERELLA (Royal Court Theatre, Liverpool).
Steven has made many television appearances. He is most well known for playing the character Max Farnham in the long running soap BROOKSIDE, for which he won a best Actor award at the Manchester Evening News Awards.
Recent Television roles include: HOTEL BABYLON, EMMERDALE, THE BILL, Tony Harvey in the interactive episode of CASUALTY & HOLBY CITY, DOCTORS, Owen in two series of FOXY LADY, three years as Roy Lambert in CROSSROADS and appearances in HOLLYWOOD SPORTS CAT’S EYES, NOW AND THEN, SCOTCH AND WRY and CROWN COURT.
Steven was seen on CELEBRITY MASTERMIND and his film credits include: FLIGHTS OF FANCY, DADDY FOX and a short film CLOSING THE DEAL.
